About Eastbourne

Eastbourne  is a Victorian seaside town nestled at the edge of the South Downs National Park. The famous “Seven Sisters” cliffs at Beachy Head are where the South Downs Way begins and just along the coast at Birling Gap, the river Cuckmere makes spectacular “oxbow meanders” as it approaches the sea.
Eastbourne, and particularly Little Chelsea, is a treasure trove of independent retailers, cafes, restaurants, theatres and accommodation.
Bateman’s is a National Trust property North-east of Eastbourne where you’ll be able to discover the personal stories of Rudyard Kipling, author of The Jungle Book and the Just So stories.
